Daddy Time

All of the excitement this week was certainly cause for consternation. And even though (with hind-sight being 20/20) Carolyn probably didn't need to go to Wichita, it gives us both peace of mind that she is there to be with Amber and will be able to see Dr. Rogers on Tuesday. In the meantime, Daddy and Annabelle are getting to spend some special time together over this long weekend (Tuesday is a Federal Holiday and most units will take Monday as a Training Holiday). Today we went to the Adventure Science Center in Nashville, and even though I did not take any photos, I was amazed at how perceptive she has become since the last time she was there. She is certainly smart and has lots of common sense (her mother's daughter to be sure). When we dropped Carolyn at the airport on Friday she said (with no prompting) "Mommy is going on the plane". When I told her she was right, she said "we going on the bus" - the last time we traveled as a family we dropped Carolyn with the bags to check in, and Annabelle and I went to the Long Term parking lot and got on the shuttle (which she called a bus) to go back to the terminal. She has an incredible memory for a 21 month old! We enjoyed our day together and I look forward to the next three. I know that I could not stay at home with her everyday like Carolyn does - that takes an incredible kind of patience. But I am really enjoying some special Daddy Time this weekend, and am thankful for every second of it!
