Today we are 11 weeks and 2 days pregnant!

Another scare… Amber woke this morning and had some more bleeding… this time a little different than what she had already been experiencing… more red, less brown..

So she decided to go to the ER and get checked out… I would have done the same thing… she was seen by the ultrasound tech and the radiologist… both babies are growing well, baby A (super baby, who keeps bouncing around like a jumping bean) is now measuring 12 weeks 2 days with a heart rate of 176 (yes, that is a full week ahead) and baby B is now measuring 11 weeks 6 days with a heart rate of 191…They are measuring ahead so much that they have actually changed the due date to Dec 7th (opposed to Dec 14th, sorry Kurt) but we know that we won’t make it to December at all.. J
According to the report, the bleeding is coming from two Subchorionic hemorrhages. We must have sibling rivalry, they each have one... (We must be fair… and to try to make lemonade out of what looks like lemons...) This isn’t an uncommon issue but it certainly doesn’t make any of us comfortable... (Amber and I as well as John) The radiologist really didn’t say much as to what causes them to develop nor how to prevent them... nor did he mention any positive or negative words for us either… I don’t think they even know what causes them… Amber and I have the theory that because she is carrying two and both are ahead of schedule, the bleeds are coming from her uterus having to expand at an even faster rate than otherwise… causing the bleeding.. but no one knows which make the bleeds that much more worrisome…

The Radiologist did say that we still have a viable pregnancy and her cervix is still closed but… when Amber was leaving she was given a fact sheet on miscarriages and what to look for or expect… this was very upsetting and the staff member told her regardless, if you are under 24 weeks pregnant and come in with bleeding you get the sheet... I am not going to read anything into it… Amber will be on rest until she can been seen by the OB, which they have ordered to be done by the end of the week and she will stay on the progesterone injections as well. Our appointment is still scheduled for June 9th and I hope all will be well at that time so I can see the little babies too!

We would love any prayers that you can send up… I feel confident that all will be well with all three, baby A, B and Amber but know that prayer can help as well… John and I have felt from the very beginning that giving all of this to God is the attitude we would have and for me, it has been wonderfully comforting... I am working on getting Amber to do the same so she can rest her mind and reduce her stress…

Please pray for Amber and the babies… Pray to bring comfort to Amber in knowing she is doing what is needed for the babies to say healthy…

Thank you all, we love you and will update as more news is available!Carolyn (John and Annabelle)

I had bleeding on and off until around week 14. It's very scary, but hopefully hers will subside soon and not come back!!
