Getting ready for summer....

Hello everyone.. I have a brief moment to update so I will get right to the point!
Last Saturday John and I did the Ride for the cure (in support of fighting breast cancer). The girls and I did the 5k (running only a bit of it) but John actually rode for 50 miles! yes, 50 on his bike! WOW... Very impressive considering he hasn't ridden in a while! We also had a competition on Facebook to raise money for this cause. We are/were a part of a team for this event and John decided to see how much money he could raise to help do our part. He posted on Facebook about it and got some donations from friends. One of his friends donated to me because I was not raising any money and that got under John's skin but turned on my competition mode! the game was on.. and was really on when my donations started coming in and John tells me that people are only donating for me because I have had cancer. (in a joking manor of course) anyway, long story shortened. We raised $305 for me and $255 for John, which put our team over the top for the entire event and exceeded our personal and team goals!! we were/are very proud... Because of this we have signed up for another 5K in two weeks, I think this one is for Autism but I am not sure.

In light of our next run, I just got back from running 3 miles. I actually ran the whole 3 miles! YEAH ME.... I am very excited about this and might get motivated to run more when John is home to keep the girls!

Ok.. Addison is up and Annabelle is wanting to read so I need to go.. here are a few photos for you from the Cancer ride.
Love to you all,
Carolyn

Happy Easter....

God bless you all and happy Easter as well...

John arrived home last night and all is right in the Evans' world once again. He had the opportunity to get up with Addison last night a few times not to mention he has been on nights for the last two weeks so he is still sleeping. Annabelle isn't happy about him not being down here but soon enough she can give him a big hug and kiss!

Sharelle and I worked our butts off last night rearranging the "kids" room here at Grammy and Papa's. We basically switched two rooms. It looks great and I think it will be a wonderful time when Nathan and Caroline are here too! I have been talking up the toddler bed to Annabelle so she would be ready to sleep in it here (she sleeps in one at home and has for over a year but here she has been in the crib.. only because there was no where else we could put here that didn't involve bunk beds... ) so when she was going to bed... she walked into the room and asked "so, where am I sleeping?!" in a I-am-very-tired-just-tell-me-so-I-can-go-to-sleep tone.. She is certainly developing her personality! and she has her mommy's attitude as well...

Annabelle and Craven had a fun filled day while Sharelle and I worked on the rooms.. they played at the swing set, on the big rocks, and in the blue sand.. yes, blue sand which both were covered in... (and apparently Annabelle ate some too) it was a mess but nothing a little bath wouldn't clean off.. speaking of baths.. the colored bath tablets WORK! YEAH.... She still holds herself, afraid of peeing, but no more screaming! PRAISE THE LORD!

I am enjoying my coffee and hanging with the girls while waiting for the other adults wake... I will take photos of the egg hunt and share...

God bless you all and continue to keep our soldiers and families in your prayers

First night in Uncle Kurt and Aunt Sharon's Cabin...

Yesterday was fun filled and Annabelle had a ball sticking side by side with her big cousin Caroline. Addison was happily passed from me to Kurt to Sharon throughout the day as well (thank you both!:) ) Annabelle ate a new dinner as well something she will probably not eat again for some time, salmon! Personally I hate the stuff but she seemed to like it OK.. :) John will be happy to hear... Everyone was happy.. Annabelle even tried chocolate ice cream but didn't really like it.. yes, I know, she is odd not liking chocolate but I hope she outgrows it soon!

Then comes bedtime... and all seemed well (me with my fingers crossed) with Annabelle going to bed with her cousins in the big bunk beds... Caroline and Annabelle sharing one set while Nathan, who really just wanted to sleep had the other. After about an hour of giggles and a few trips upstairs to calm the crying from a bear that had gone astray, the tears came and wouldn't leave... so down to mommy's bed we go!

Thinking it was going to require me going to bed too, we headed down to my room, I put her in the bed, brushed my teeth and put my PJs on and found an asleep Annabelle! So back upstairs I go but only for a little while.. it was all ready 1030 and I was tired from the drive...

I head to bed only to be awakened at 1 by Addison who has decided that sleep is for sissies and that it is much more fun to just stay awake.. I fed her and she went back to sleep... I, however didn't.. not until about 3 then Addison started calling out again around 4 but this cry was more of an "I am bored, come play with me" cry so I let her go for a few minutes and back to sleep she went.. I finally fell back asleep around 445 and got to sleep about an hour when Annabelle woke not knowing who I was demanding to get down and go down stairs (we are downstairs) ... I finally had to grab her tightly, all the while she is crying "I want mommy" " I want mommy" and sing her bedtime songs... "twinkle twinkle little star" ... after a round of this she looks up at me, presses her hands to the sides of my face and says "you are mommy!" It was really sweet....

I put her back in bed and of course, you can guess.. Addison wakes.. it was 630 by now so I just got up, with Annabelle asking where I was going, told Annabelle I had to go feed Addison, and went to make a bottle (and brew coffee!!) Addison is fed, back in bed, Annabelle is as well so here I sit on the back deck freezing... yes it was 80 here yesterday and it is going to snow tonight! Typical Tennessee weather.. but it is kind of nice listening to the rooster down the holler letting everyone know it is time to get up!! It brings back Deep River memories..

I am logging off and going inside!! burr...

Love to you all!
